TEAO EDUCATION CREDIT TRAINING

'A Living and Breathing' Training through the Trauma and Embodiment Association of Ontario

This trauma training through the Trauma and Embodiment Association of Ontario (TEAO) may offer some support around becoming attuned to what it is like to do trauma-informed work and actually show up in your body, not just as someone with an intervention to offer or a service to provide. The invitation may be to help start thinking about how trauma intersects with embodiment and how, when we show up as "leaders" with a trauma-informed lens, it may begin to mean more than just techniques or providing a service.

This training is done through the lens of trauma responsiveness and how we become more responsive physically and emotionally to our body narratives when we use our bodies as a source of connection and safety. Suitable for leaders within the community, leaders within an organization, teachers, frontline workers, practitioners, parents and any one interested in this lens of practice.

Working towards de-framing some cognitively led presentations; of how we might have been conditioned through perhaps a more colonial lens as colonization may tend to reach into the very psychosomatic structure of those colonized. If we are embodying the material we may have to embody this notion too - providing more time for folks to rest, digest, and process the material individually or in groups. This offering is to those interested in this invitation as we work towards embodying collective change, systemically.
