RESOURCES & SUPPORT FOR INDIVIDUALS
The following is a collection of mental health and wellness resources, which we believe are rooted in anti-oppressive and embodiment-based trauma approaches and thus are aligned with TEAO’s mission.
TEAO is acutely aware of how daunting and overwhelming it can be to navigate the mental health system and connect with appropriate and human-centered resources. We hope that through this list, folks will be able to access the supports they may need with greater ease.

RESOURCES FOR OPPRESSED & HISTORICALLY IGNORED BODIES & ALLIES
Crisis Services Canada
The Canada Suicide Prevention Service was built as an equitable, accessible service, there to support anyone in need living anywhere in Canada. The CSPS helpline will always be guided by principles of inclusion, stakeholder engagement and accessibility.
Crisis Services Canada states, “we are experiencing an international civil rights movement of unprecedented size, in the midst of the uncertainty and challenges of a pandemic. You and your loved ones may be feeling especially isolated, overwhelmed or helpless in the face of these difficult, complex issues.”
For anyone who may be a member of a racialized or historically ignored community looking for resources to support your well-being and mental health, or anyone interested in becoming or being a better Ally.
The CSPS helpline is always there to support anyone with concerns related to suicide. There compassionate, highly-trained responders are available 24/7/365 to help you feel safer and explore ways to cope with suicidal ideation.
Toll-free phone support is available in French and English at 1 833 456 4566.
Text message support is available in English from 4PM to 12AM Eastern at 45645 (standard messaging rates according to your phone carrier contract may apply).
We’d love to hear from you!
