TEAO’s vision is to transform mental health in Canada one community at a time by integrating service delivery and ensuring the right health care is given to the right client.
The Trauma and Embodiment Association of Ontario is a charitable organization that aims to break the stigma and create a community where people have equal opportunities to thrive, especially those dealing with trauma, crisis, mental illness, or addictions, providing them with a judgment-free space to recover. We believe that this transformation should happen through a forward-thinking vision and embodiment mindset while working with trauma, mental health, and addictions.
At TEAO, we believe that by creating awareness, we can build stronger communities. We can create networks of support that weave through health care, youth services, the justice system, social services, and municipal programs. We aim to erase the stigma and develop understanding by opening the door to a brighter, healthier future for people dealing with trauma, mental health problems, and addictions.
TEAO WORK PLAN: ORGANIZATIONAL PHASES
Where we are as an organization — We are just out of the gates after one year, from Foundational Phase 1 slowly & steadily entering Foundational Phase 2 as a collective team of HEARTS.
STRATEGIC PLAN 2022-2025
We are currently operating as an outreach initiative and working towards a seamless-like approach when it comes to integrating services to what we define as historically ignored communities and people. When it comes to leaders, frontline, and first responders they too, may have been normalized in keeping face, not cracking under pressure, not speaking of things that happen in the workforce or day-to-day responding to crisis and may have just normalized it as part of the job" thus the impact.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRATEGY 2022-2025
We have been busy planning and organizing our initiative as a movement in the community, one that has been constructed against the grain as to how we heal systemically towards CHANGE.
TEAO TARGETS
Through our community outreach, trainings and programs and partnerships, TEAO is focused on connecting with parents, teachers, white-led spaces, frontline workers, community agencies and professionals in the mental health field.
